Two summer schools on sustainable agriculture practices and two methodological workshops on scientific writing laid the foundation that enabled early-career researchers from NUBiP to secure funding through national grants for conducting their own research.

This year, two research teams will simultaneously launch studies in the field of agronomy. The team led by Bohdan Mazurenko will focus on the remediation of contaminated and damaged lands through the cultivation of remediant plants and the management of their productivity. The team led by Oleksandr Havryliuk will investigate issues related to the technological processing of agricultural products, particularly in horticulture, under the challenges of climate change and the transition to sustainable development and a circular economy.

Project title: Development of phytoremediation approaches for obtaining safe products and enhancing biodiversity and ecosystem resilience
Project leader: Bohdan Mazurenko

Project title: Formation of Sustainable Growing Systems for Columnar Apple Cultivars under Conditions of Climate Change
Project leader: Oleksandr Havryliuk

Both teams include participants of the summer schools, including Iryna Havryliuk, Viacheslav Chobotar, Roman Spriazhka, Olena Sedova, and others.
A key feature of this competition is the harmonization of project concepts with the programs of the European Research Area. All data generated during the research activities will comply with the FAIR principles, and the majority of the published articles will be open access. At the same time, students and PhD candidates are actively involved in the research process, ensuring continuity in knowledge transfer. The acquired knowledge is directly integrated into the educational process.
We therefore anticipate significant results and wish the early-career researchers every success on their scientific path.
